A stowaway giving his name as Gibson, but known to the police as George [ Caffery, waß arrested on board a steamer at Newcastle, at the request of the New Zealand authorities. He was attempting to evade mlitary service.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc, STEAMER SERVICE WITH DUTCH POSSESSIONS. Melbourne, May 21. The Commonwealth slipping authorities have ararnged for the partial resumption of steamer communication between Australia and the Dutch possessions in the Pacific, which was interrupted through the American and British Governments requisitioning Dutch shipping.—Aus.
