BRANCH FORMED AT BELti BLOCK. There was a very representative trat Is • cring of farmers at the meeting'which was held in Die Bell Block Hull last night far the purpose of hearing an address from Mr G. H. Bliekeridg.', Taranaki Provincial Organiser. Mr J. S. Connett presided, (lie gathering being representative of Bell Block, Taruruta.ngi and Hillsborough districts, whilst Vrankley Road and Tatarainnika were also represented. Mr Buckeridge gave a very interesting address on the aims and achievements of the Farmers' Union, also ou Maxwell's system of book-keeping. He was attentively listened to and at the conclusion was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Tt was afterwards decided to form a branch of the Farmers.' Union' to embrace the districts of Bell Block, Tarurntangi and Hillsborough nnd eighteen members were enrolled. Mr J. S. C'onnett was elected president, Mr 11. 0. Sampson, vice-president; Mr. A. W. Ogle, secretary and treasurer: Mr -T. AV. Howes, auditor; Messrs AV. Hoskin, 11. Street, E. Marsh, and A. Jackson were appointed an executive with power to add. Meetings will be held on the first Monday in each month and will be held alternately at Bell Block, Hillsborough and Tarurutangi. For the first meeting the subject for debate will bo the single purpose cow v. dual purpose cow led by Mr H. C. Sampson.
