LICENSEE FINED. Palmerston North, May 20. James Mitchell, licensee of the Occidental Hotel, was fined £lO and his license endorsed for exposing liquor for sale. The police, in their evidence, said licensee's wife was standing in a private bar whilst eight men, four of whom were boarders, were in a dark pantry, a slide being between, and in which were glasses containing liquor and some bottles. Ilie Magistrate said the evidence <vas conclusive as to the exposure of liquor for sale. An appeal is probable.
