CHARGE OF BIGAMY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, May 21. Harvey Katherine Johnson, aged 30, appeared at the Police Court to-day on a charge of bigamy. Evidence was given that in September, 1910, a retired farmer, named Arthur Edwin Featherstone,. wert through a form of marriage with W in th& registrar's office at Auckland. She gave the njiir.o of Kate Kavanagh, aril stated that she was single. Shortly after, they separated, and Featherstone got information that accused was already married whe n she went through the form of marriage with him. He had the marrage annulled. interviewed by a' constable, accuse'l admitted tlmt. in 1!)0H she married a hilioret named John Bjorin .Johnson. After being itiarried twv years sht, ieft him, with his consent. She went to the Islands, and lost sight of Johnson, but subsequently learned that he had gone to the war. She thought that after she lad been eight years away, and that I'e had gone to the wai without having "i:ide provision for her, she was free of liiir. Accused pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
