A RAILWAY FATALITY.
LADY KILLED AT INGLEWOOD STATION".
Ag the mail train was moving out of Isiglewood station 011 Saturday evening Airs. Molloy, wife of a farmer at Korito, when attempting to reach the platform, fell on to the line and was dragged for about 30 yards. When picked up the unfortunate lady, who was gasping her last breath, was taken into the station and medical aid at once summoned, but the doctor, on arrival, could only pronounce life extinct. It appears that Mrs. Molloy was travelling with a son 12. years of age, and apparently only realised that she had reached her destination as the train moved off. She made a rush to alight, but fell between the carriage and the platform, one leg being badly mangled and other injuries caused, it being found necessary to jack the carriage before it was possible to release the unfortunate lady, an operation that delayed the train for 40 minutes.
The greatest sympathy is felt for the bereaved husband and family, who are highly-respected settlers. Two of the sons went to the, front where one found his last resting place.
