BRAVERY OF SEAMEN. TO BE RECOGNISED BY THE KING. Received May 10, 8.30 p.m. London, May 15. Twelve thousand five hundred members of the mercantile marine have been killed during the war. The dependents have £ 170,000 yearly. His Majesty has approved of an award badge to officers, seamen, firemen and stewards who continue to go to Sea after being torpedoed or mined. The badge is to be in the form of a torpedo, worn on the left sleeve.
