IN THE AIR.
AERIAL ACTIVITY. ON WESTERN FRONT. Received May 17, 12.5 a.m. London, May 10. Sir Douglas Hah/a aviation report states: We brought down S aeroplanes on Tuesday and drove down another two. Two of ours are missing. Bombing continued actively in the night. Twelve tons of bombs were dropped on. Menin, Chaulnes, Peronne, on the station at Lille, billets at Bapaume, billets south of the Somme, and the docks at Bruges. All returned. We successfully raided on Wednesday a railway station and sidings at Thionville, dropping 24 heavy bombs. Bursts were observed on the sheds and track, while the furnaees were hit. The Carbhntts factory, alongside the railway, was hit four times. All returned, despite the heavy anti-aircraft fire.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. PARIS BOMBED.
