DISTRICT NEWS.

OAONTJI. ( From Our Own Correspondent.) On the 7th inst, a reception-concert was held at Oaonui to welcome Rev. and Mrs Strand. This is the first time that the Methodists have held either concert or social here, although I understand they have been holding services in the hall for the last twenty-six years. On this occasion the hall was well filled. Addresses of welcome were delivered by Messrs Pentelow and Kirkwood. The programme was much appreciated. The following contributed:—Miss Pentelow, Miss O'Halloran, Miss Hedderiek. The Hughson family, Rahotu Glee Party, Mr. Rangi Epati. Refreshments were handed round by the ladies.
