NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY.

NO LONGER A CITY MONOPOLY. Only since the advent of electric light has it been possible to secure satisfactory results with portraits taken at night, but already many city photographers use electric lamps almost exclusively and get results that compare favorably with those secured in bright daylight. Two large 2000 candle power lamps aro generally used, and as the light is too hard to apply direct, the lamps are shaded with white screens. Until etfcently photographijj studios in the city, where electric light is available, have a monopoly of night photography, but a few weeks ago the New Zealand agents for the famous "Wizard" light, secured a supply of "Wizard Are Lamps, which give a superior ; light to electric light for the purpose, and the cost of operating is much lower. The light from "Wizard" Arc Lamps is very much like daylight, and softer than electric. For this reason screens are not required, and excellent results are secured, with the light shining from tho mantle direct on the sitfer. Two or three "Wizard" Arc Lamps give sufficient light for any studio and the cost for installing the lamps is extremely reasonable. The fact that the "Wizard'' Lamp is so soft and white, has made it very popular for country houses and store lighting. There are over 4000 "Wizard" Light users in New Zealand al-' ready, and the number is being increased by 200 every month. The "Wizard" lighting system supplies an ideal light lor country homes, because it is cheap to install, easy and clean to operate, simple in Construction, and each plant is guaranteed for five years. Complete plants are supplied from- £l7 upwards. The country resident who has a "Wizard" plant installed in his home or store without first inquiring into the merits of the "Wizard" light is not studying his best interests, as there ire several patent features in the 'T.'izard" Lamp that cannot be found iii ; any other. "Wizard" Sight users k-id people who require information should WRITE TO H. H. BLAKE, BOX 63, ELTt '
