ANOMALOUS SALARIES.
IN THE DEFENCE FOKCE. Anomalies ia the pay received by military officers was the subject of considerable comment by the chairman *f the Defence Expenditure Commission (•Sir Kobert Anderson), when Colonel Gibbon, C.G.S., was giving evidence on | Thursday. He read u, list giving the com trast between the pay aud allowances of officers in the training camps and at headquarters, where, the official list steted, the expenses arc infinitely higher: The total amounts of pay and allowances were shown as one in all cases.
