DRUIDS AND SOLDIERS' SICK PAY.

GOVERNMENT AID SUGGESTED By Telegraph. —Press Association. Wellington, Monday. At the gathering of Druids, to-night tp welcome several soldier members returned from the front, the Arch-Druid referred to the heavy liability that the Druids' lodges wei'o faced with on account of men at the front. Ho thought the Government should come to their assistance and pay the contributions and sick pay of soldiers. The Druids had made levies on megnbers to meet the contributions of members at the front, but with the calling up of the Second Division the member contributors would decrease and the liabilities would increase. Responding to the toast of the New Zealand Parliament, the non. A . M. Myers said the Government had made an attempt to recognise its responsibilities regarding soldiers by paying half the insurance rates. He maintained that provision hart been made for all soldiers incapacitated, or partially incapacitated from taking their place in the industrial life of the community. He would like to have the names of those who had r.ot received this assistance from the Government, ne asked them to submit the whole question to the Government, who would give the matter its earnest and sympathetic consideration.
