CLARA KIMBALL YOUNG AT THE EMPIRE TO-NIGHT.

A real flash light upon the Russian police method of dealing with Nihilists and other revolutionaries is thrown during the Mining of "My. Official Wife," the Vitagraph de lux special feature now being screened at the Empire. Clara Kimball Y T oung narrowly makes her escape from the Nihilist Council meeting to see a brother Anarchist meet with a swift and terrible fate. '"The charm of a child and the brain of a diplomat" is the description given of Clara Kimball Young as the Nihilist Queen "Marie." This ball scene is one of outstanding .coßtly magnificence. "Betray me and you go to Siberia with me," threatens Marie, the superbly lovely Nihilist leader, when the man she has enticed into travelling with her as man and wife, threatens to say who and what they really are. He has no option, but to keep silence. The climax is one of the most terrific ever conceived in drama, and the last event in the love story of Sacha, the Russian nobleman who sacrificed rank and pro- ! perty for the Nihilist Queen, is one: that makes the pulse beat fast. Clara Kimball' Young rises to great heights of emotional power in this noble scene. There is a good supporting programme, all of which will be repeated again tonight and to-morrow night.

EVERYBODY'S. BIG DOUBLE PROGRAMME TO-NIGHT-JUNE CAPRICE IN "A SMALL TOWN GIRL." ' A new programme of exceptional brilliance will be introduced at Everybody's to-night and continued to-mor-'Vo\v. To arouse public interest in this select array of motion picture gems, it is only necessai-y to remark that one of the big features is a Fox film with winsome June Caprice and the clever little actress Jane Lee in the leading parts. It is entitled "A Small Town Girl," and portrays the life of a young country girl who dreams of- the big cities but quickly baa her dreams dispelled on arrival. However there is •a pretty love story and heroine, June Caprice, and her little side partner, Jane Lee, have quite a series of .adventures before happiness comes to everyone, j Another big star attraction is the five reel Bluebird-Butterfly dramatic story entitled "'Eternal Love." This is an I intensely powerful story full of heart throtfs. Douglas Gerrard as the hand- I some artist and Ruth Clifford as the sweetheart and model are happily cast I in roles which suit admirably. Patrons are reminded that this programme commences at 7.45 sharp. BAKRIE MARSCTIKL AND "THE KID FROM TIMARU."' On Thursday and Friday at Everybody's, the management will present a unique attraction under the above heading. This is a film produced in New Zealand by permission of Sir •111 incs Allen, Minister of Defence, and with the assistance of the militarv authorities and S.OOO New Zealand* soldiers. As the picture unfolds, Mr. Barrio Marscliel, the author of the poem, personally recites the lines and describes the picture with intense dramatic effect. Patrons will do well to book their seats beforehand.
