ENLISTMENT AT %B.< NOT ALLOWED TO PIGHT TILL 19. Received May C, 11.40 p.m. Melbourne, May 0. Senator Pearce (Defence Minister) has announced that the consent of parents to enable youths under 21 to enlist is not now required. Recruits may enlist at the age of eighteen, but are not sent to camp until six months later. They will be embarked as soon as possible, but will not be allowed in the firing line until they reach the age of nineteen.—Press Assoc.
