SHORTAGE OF LABOR.
ABOLITION OK TERRITORIAL CAMPS URGED. By Telegraph.—'Press Association. Pahiatus, May i. _ The Pahiatua County Council unanimously resolved that owing to the great shortage of labor, it is of the opinion that territorial camps should be discontinued until normal conditions arc restored. Several instances were quoted of ■men engaged on essential farm or road work having to go to a territorial camp, when they learn the same drill as in the main training cam]). One case was that of a married man with two children, and in another instance the remaining son on a farm, with three brothers enlisted; also a road teamster was refused exemption, the team being 'idle. Condemnation was expressed at the position, which was described as I ridiculous.
