HOUSEHOLDERS' MEETINGS.
ELECTION RESULTS. TOKO. There was only a small attendance at the householders' meeting on Monday night. Mr. A. J. Chaincy was voted to the chair. The chairman's annual report stated that in September the school was closed for three weeks on account of an epidemic. Unfortunately, one child died. The school ami outbuildings were thoroughly disinfected and tanks and spouting.s cleaned- Tar-sealing part of the playground is a great improvement. Total cost to date, £33 2a 5(1. The balance-sheet showed receipts as .£97 10s lldaiul expenditure £O3 lis (id, leaving a credit balance of £34 5s (id. Inspectors Ballantyne and Dempsey inspected the school on March 19.' but owing to the inclemency of tie weather only 39 were present out of 118 on the roll. The work, .however, showed satisfactory progress. In November a concert in aid of the school funds realised, £lO Is 0d- Much credit was due to the teachers in making the function such a success. The average attendance for the year was 102. Nothing had been done to the baths owing to the scarcity of labor. The credit in the bank to date was £'4 19s Sd.
A vote of sympathy to the late chairman, who was absent through sickness, was passed. There were nine candidates for election, and the following were elected:— Messrs A. J. Chainev (secretary), H.
