CONSTRUCTING DESTROYERS. New York, April 26. Mr. Daniels, Secretary for the Navy, in a speech said: "The United States is now building as many destroyers as the world possessed two years ago." Mr. Baker, Secretary for War, said: "There is no answer tq the German doctrine in soft words." ENEMY CONTROLLED BANKS. New York, April 26. The list ,of enemy controlled- banks and firms in neutral countries contains 5000 names of firms and individuals. A REGISTRATION ORDER. New York, April 26. The House of Representatives passed the Senate resolution requiring that youths attaining 21 years last .June shall register for military service. It is estimated that the number affected is 1,200,000. THE LIBERTY LOAN. New York, April 26. The Liberty Loan subscriptions are more than two billion dollars. T. P. O'CONNOR'S MISSION. New York, April 28. Mr. T. P. O'Connor has arrived here from Chicago. He will'explain to the United States Government Ireland's attitude on conscription. Interviewed, he said: "Ireland does not desire to weaken England in the vigorous prosecution of the war, but wishes to see Ireland have her own Parliament, which would itself throw Ireland's full strength in support of the struggle for freedom." TOTAL CASUALTIES, Washington, April 26. The War Department announces that the casualties to the American forces in France since they entered the war are ; more than 3000, including 274 marines.
