INCENDIARY FIRES. CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE DONE. Received April 26, 9 p.m. New York, April 25. Three fires occvnrd simultaneously in the Lake Erie and Western railway shops, which were practically destroyed, as well as a hundred thousand pounds worth of plant and also fourteen locomotive* urgently needed for troop trains. It is stated the hose was cut, destroying the water pressure for the fire engines. A man has been arrested. A SPEECH DEBARRED. Received April 26, 9 p.m. New York, April 25. Mrs Sheehy Skeffington, widow of the Irishman executed during the Sinn Fein rebellion, arranged to give a speech at the demonstration of the Irish "Freedomites" at San Francisco, but members of the Californian Council prohibited the address on the ground that attacks on Britain were not permitted. CONTROLLING THE WOOL INDUSTRY. Received April 26, 9.30 p.m. New York, April 25. The United Press states the Government will take measures to control the wool industry. Details are not an-, nounced. Another message states that woolgrowers at a conference agreed to offer the Government the entire wool output of the United States, based on the prices ruling last July. This action will probably avert commandeering.
