The Department of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London, April 20, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot.) Meat.—Market conditions are unchanged. Regulated supplies in active demand at full prices. Home-killed mutton and beef are in small supply, imported representing nearly 80 per cent. English beef (mutilated word here), 12} d; imported beef, hinds 137-Bd., fores 105-8 d; mutton and lamb, English or imported, 13d. Butter—Small supply. Government distribution this week consists principally of Australian'and Argentine, no Continental supplies available. Cheese. —Demand is in excess of supply. English, no supplies coming forward. Estimated Canadian cheese stocks in London, Liverpool, Bristol, 8015 boxes, against 23,953 boxes at the same time last year. Hemp.—Manila and New Zealand hemp: Market and prices are without change. Wheat.—Market quiet, with no alteration in prices. Oats—Active demand at full prices.
