TIRPITZ'S FAITH IN U-BOATS.
"'BELGIAN QUESTION REMAINS THE PIVOT." London, Feb. 18. According to tlie Kolnischo Volkszeitung, Admiral von Tirpit-z, addressing a Meeting of tlio Fatherland .Party at Cologne on Wednesday la<st, said:— ''The Western Powers constitute our greatest danger. Americans help is restricted by her small amount of tonnage- ■ She will work all the more politically against us. especially by fringing pressure to bear on neutrals. Unfortunately too much time was expended on the preliminaries to 'die U-boat war, thus giving t'no enemy time to prepare his counter measures, which hindered the speedy effect of the U-boat war. A* soon as England's robbery of sliips ceases, because there aro no more to rob, England will speedily feel the full intensity of the U-boat war. Unfortunately Hie -U-boat war has not received sufficient political support. We shall, however, hold out longer tlian England, ami victory cannot escape us if we pursue our aim.' 1 Admiral von Tirpitz added: "Both Mr. Lloyd Ceorge and "Mr. Asqi'tli at bottom \v;i lit to at lain the same end. the one by shattering Germany and the other i 1 - bending her by a so-called 'renunciation peace.' We need to bo on our guard if Mr- Asqwith's plans assume shape." Admiral von Tirpitz. in conclusion, declared that the Belgian question remained the pivot of the world-war. —Keuter
