Sir, I have been informed that some members of the r-hovc association hive made false statements regarding tne nomination of candidates for the New Zealand Council and are not av/are of the true facts, and 1 now hasten to put them right. At a meeting of this branch, when a representative number were present, nominations were invited for a candidate for th.3 council, and on a dhow of hands being taken the votes recorded were as follows: F. Ranford 10, E. Griffiths 0, W. V. Harkness 8, J. T. Belcher 6. The above figures should set at rest any doubt that may exist in the minds of persons entitled to vote.—l am, ete, A. D.
