UREXUI. . Urenui, April 22. The first meeting of the Loyal Temperance Legion of 19XS was held at MrsRowe's residence, Ngatiawa House, on Saturday afternoon. The"meeting opened with a hymn, and the L.T.L. salutes, mottoes, and exercises were taught, after which the election of officers resulted in the following^—President, Miss Margaret Gra'ham; secretary, iliss Elsie ■ Glentworth; treasurer, Miss Olive s Waite; librarian, K. Glliver. Recitations were rendered by Misses Baidee and Zelma Sown' and Kathleen ' Gilliver. A marching song, "'Wo Are ■ Temperance Childrfen," and a round, "Total Abstinence," were taught. The ' meeting closed with a hymn and Bene- ' diction. A meeting of the W.C.T.U. was held at Mrs. Graham's residence, Onaero, on . Wednesday, April 17. The superintendent of the Cradle Roll reported six: new members. Other business was done, af- , ter which refreshments were given 'by - Mrs. 'Graham.
