HOCKEY.
HIGH SCHOOL OLD GIRLS' CLUB. The first hockey meeting of the season was held on Wednesday. April 17, when a, club was formed among the old girls or the local High School. The following officers were elected:—President, Mik M.'Arthur; -viee-preseident, Misses Thomson and Brewster, Messrs. Hutchen, E. P. Webster, R. W. D. Robertson, J _ I'ox, P. W. Atkinson, S. C. Smith, L. C. .Shuldcn, A. Morton, 11. Trimble, Dr. Fookes; secretary, Miss F. Evans; du'b captain, Miss Andrews; vice-captain, Miss Heal; delegates, Misses Evans and Heal; selection committee, captain, vice-captain, and secretary, It was decided to apply for affiliation with the Taranaki Ladies' Hockey Association, the following colors beiii" decided on:—Grey sweaters-, emerald green tie, navy skirts. The Ifirst practice will be held on April Zljat 2 p.m.. and it is hoped to play one or two friendly matches before the commencement. of the shield fixtures. The club is fortunate in having a handy gTound for practice, Miss Barr having tfery kindly placed the school field at their disposal. « , „ TARANAKI LADIES' HOCKEY ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting was field on Friday, April 1!), Mr. S. J. Catran (Hawera Ladies and Technical School) in the chair. The following delegates were present:—Miss Penn (Whakntika), Miss Burrow (Girls' High School), Miss Moverley (Technical College, N.P.), Misses Evans and Heal (Old Girls'), and Miss Andrews (secretary). Applications for affiliation were granted to the Old Girls', Kaponga, and Stratford Clubs. The fixtures ive;e -left in the hands of the delegates of each division, with the proviso that they must commence early ir. Jimt, anc tl'it all fees must be paid before a-club can take part in a shield match. The matter of the procuring of a new shield was left to ilr. Catran. The secretary was instructed to obtain particulars from the New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Assocation re the next tournament. Officers wore elected as follows:—President,Miss Barr; vice-presidents, presidents of all affiliated clubs; secretary and treasurer, E. Andrews; committee, delegates from affiliaed cluiise. It was decided to endeavor to arrange a match between the northern and southern division, to be played at Strat.foi;d hetwe.cn the first and second round of the shield fixtures,
