' alias Jas. W. MINERS' DISPUTE SETTLED. Greymouth, April 22. After a month's idleness, the Paparoa ;o»l miners resumed work to-day. The dispute over the sacking oi the nuu 1 Woan has been settled. Woan is to < reinstated, at work outside the nune. Another big strike at the Blackball mine was narrowly averted. It appears that a jtflly taken from a miner on contract was attached to a truck of coal won bv the company's men on daily wages, the company's mark in chalk having been defaced. This led tl«manager to dismiss one of tue mineis. The union took the matter' up, and a strike was narrowly averted. Mr- Seniple is in the district, and a good deal of credit for settling both disputes is given to him.
