DEATH OF AN OFFICER.

AT TRENTHAM CAMP. By Telegraph—Press Association, Wellington, Last Night. The death occurred of Major Ernest C. Winstone, principal dental officer at the camp. The cause of death was cerebro spinal fever. Major Winstone was a married man, 33 years of age. He was taken suddenly ill on Thursday, but never rallied. He took his dental degree at Pennsylvania University, and started practice, in Auckland. He volunteered on the outbreak of the war, and was a captain in Avondale Camp, being later promoted to take charge at Trentham with the rank of major.
