NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW.

Prize schedules for this important fixture are now available and may be had post free on application to the Secretary, Sox 85, Palmerston North/ [n drawing attention to this fact we may also mention that entries close for the above as well as for the Manawatu Poultry Association Show on Ist June. If exhibitors desire to enter Poultry only, this should be mentioned as a separate schedule is issued for that division. A very comprehensive programme of outdoor amusements has been drawn up, including the Wanganui-Te Aute College football match, which will "be played on the 2nd day of the Show (Wednesday, 19th June) as usual; Sheep Dog Trials on Thursday, 20th June, and Horse .aud Pony Leaping on Friday, 21st June. The" arrangements indoors will be specially attractive at this juncture in the history of our Empire. Everybody is now agreed that the first care of all British subjects after the war is to" see.that our commercial affairs are not allowed to drift into the hands of those who would, if it were possible, appropriate not only our businesses, but our persons to their own ends. Far, too long had we been bestowing our favors with a lavish hand prior to the war, and business men both in New Zealand and in Britain have awakened to the fact that now is the time to make preparations for Hie economic struggle that'is bound to eventuate when the conflict of armed forces finally closes. His Majesty's Trade Commissioner, Mr. R. \,. Daltos, has therefore arranged with the Committee (o organise an exhibition of all Bn. tish goods at the National Show. A large block of space has been allocated for this special purpose so that a most interesting and instructive display will be staged to show the public what the Mother Country is doing towards tho objects above mentioned, These exhibits will be additional to the usual fine show of dairy and other machinery, etc. Our readers are urged to make forward arrangements which will enable them to be present-at the National Dairy Show on the 18th, 19th, -„ui, and 21st of June next.
