TARATA DOG TRIALS.

There was beautiful weather and a large attendance yesterday to witness the eleventh annual dog trials at Tarata. The events were very keenly contested, and some clever work witnessed, the judge (Mr. J. McL. Blair) being well pleased with the performance of all the dogs that took part. Following are the results: Head, pull and hold in ring: Messrs. Corrigan's Sam, Tucker's Chum, Rolfe's Maid, and Scott's Lad all tied with 46 [ points out of 50. In the run off the points were: Sam 43, Chum 42, Maid 39, and Lad 35. As Mr. Corrigan won Mr. Laing's cup last year, it now becomes his property. Head, pull, drive and yard (points, 60): Tocker's Chum 00; the same owner's Chum Junior 45; Burr's Lammermoor Jack 43; Scott's Sweep Junior and Lad tied for fourth with 42. Mr. Tocker having won Mr. A. Corkill'a cup for this event last year, it now becomes his property.
