CHILD SLAVERY.
TWO WELLINGTON CASES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Two reports received by the Education Board to-day from tho truancy officer caused grave concern. In mw case a hoy of thirteen at a city school was said to be working eighteen hours daily. In another case a boy of thirteen was reported to be working sixteen hour*.
The officer remarked these were not Isolated cases.
The chairman said that it was a disgraceful state of thing* and it \va* regrettable the Board had no legal power in the matter. The Board resolved to write to the Education Department asking if anything could be done..
