East Africa official: Since April 1 General Edwards' columns from the j coast and General Northey's columns from Lake Nyassa, despite the height of the rainy season, have been converging against the Germans concentrated northward of the Lurio river. One of General Northey's columns on the sth occupied Mahua, south-westward of Msala. A detachment pushed eastward, despite the flooded rivers, and inflicted severe* losses on the enemy. On, the 11th the main German group was encountered moving north-west from Msala towards Mahua. General Edwards' troops seized Medoboaia on the ,'l2,th, after a day-long battle, resulting in severe German losses.
