Eltham, April 18. Each day sees the total of the district patriotic appeal increase, and the promoters must feel satisfied that with a little energy well applied the public can accomplish wonders. The complete total, up to last reckoning, is £1602. Of this total Eltliam has contributed £4BB, Mangatoki is a close second with £453, and other amounts are: Kaponga £l5O, Rotokarc £l2O. Rawhitiroa £flO, Te fioti £S2, Piivcrlea and Mata both on the £,53 mark, Pukengalm £35, Mangamiugi £27, Awalnna £26, Omona £2O. The labor difficulty between the Eltliam County Council and its employees continues. It is a difficult matter to decide, .but the first consideration should be the ratepayers' interests. A large contingent of Eltham and Mangatoki dancers are journeying to Kaponga to-night to assist in making the "hard-up social" a financial success. I The money secured gap.» towards the patriotic appeal now in active operation throughout the Eltham district.
