SPEEDING UP SHIPBUILDING ) CHARLES SCHWABB APPOINTED DIRECTOR Received April 18,12.10 a.m. Weshington, April 16. Mr. Charles Schwabb (president of the Steel Corporation) has been appointed Director of the Emergency Fleet Corporation, with wide powerß. He co-operates with Mr. Hunley. It is expected there will be a great speeding up of shipbuilding as the result.
There has been a sensational decline of two hundred points in cotton futures. The market closed below thirty cents per pound. Codsol has been further charged with false pretences by which it is alleged he obtained one and a half million dollars belonging to the French Government.
