HAWERA MOTOR CYCLE RACES.

At Hawera yesterday some exciting trials were witnessed between some of the crack riders. Coleinan, Mangham, Sweeney, and (jaisford have all arrived and were out having a run round yesterday. In the big race, which is 12 laps, Coleman is aet to give tlie limit man 300 seconds. Maugham also caused a mild sensation when he got going on Monday afternoon. He is riding very well, and has 15 seconds start off Coleinan in the M" race. In the Napier big race he had only 5 seconds from Coleman and was beaten by a narrow margin.. There are J4 in the novice race. A great crowd is expected to witness Taranaki o first motor-cycle meeting. The whole of the proceed* are to be devoted to the Heturned Soldiers' Big Tush Fund, The fiQal taxi-drivers have reduced their fjjieS from -2s to Is each way.
