CONSCRIPTION RESENTED. THE GOVERNMENT WARNED. London, April 9. It is understood taht the Government" has decided that conscription in Ireland must be enforced in view of the heavy sacrifices asked of the rest of Britain. There is no question of a, bargain regarding Home Rule, .though the Government hope a bill on the lines of the Convention report will assist the acceptance of conscription. , A meeting of the Dublin Corporation, by 38 votes to 3, adopted a resolution warning the Government of the disastrous results of any attempt to force conscription on Ireland, which was an insane proposal and would be resisted in every town and village in the country.
[ HOME RULE SCHEME FORECASTED. London, April 9. The Daily Express sa.y§ that the Home Role Bill includes an Irish Parliament at Dublin with a responsible executive, military service, safeguards for Protestant minorities, no control of the army or navy or foreign policy, and a new arrangement about Customs. Universal military service will lje placed before the Irish people as a corollary to self government. The Times says that it is understood that the Government is of opinion that the report of the Irish Convention justifies the enactment of the schemeLondon, April fl. Correction: The Irish Convention report contains no recommendation as to conscription. DILLONITES FURIOUS. London, April 9. The Dillonites are furious at the Government's decision to apply conscription to Ireland. It is expected some Pacifists will support them, but the Laborites will wholeheartedly support the Government. The Daily Chronicle states that the Irish Convention report contains recommendations on which it is understood a considerable measure of agreement was arrived at-
