Hon. G. W. Russell has received ad* .vice that his son, Lieut. Douglas Russell, was wounded on March 29. —Press Association. Mr. Douglas Campbell, of tho local staff of the Bank of New Zealand, left yesterday morning for Hamilton on a month's relief duty. Mr, W. H. Skinner, Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch, has been advised that' his son-in-law, Lieutenant W. T. Churchward (Canterbury Regiment) of Blenheim, has been wounded and admitted to a hospital in France. Sergt. H. Masters, Stratford, who recently returned from active service, and after a short leave reported at camp again for duty with a view of returning to the front, has, after a short period in camp, been discharged from the forces. He has resumed business at Stratford.

Second-Lieutenant Cyril R. G. Bassett, Y-C., Divisional Signalling Company, has been wounded in action. Lieutenant Bassett, whose father, Mr. P. C. Bassett, of Mount Eden, Auckland, is also on active service, has had a most distinguished career, having been the. first New Zealander to gain the V.C. in the i. present war. This was for laying telegraphs under heavy fire at Gallipoli—a most daring piece of work. He was personally decorated hy the King, and %] the henor of leading liis countrymen the Anzac Day celebrations in London. A recent hospital list includes the following faranaiki names:—Dangerously ill: M- J. Watson (New Plymouth). Severe eases: J. J. Bajry (Fit V.roy), G. Craft (Patea). Not severe eases: A. R. Bayly (Omata), W, E. Kronk (Waitara), F. 11. Leigh (Hawera), T. P. M'Kenna (Rahotu), C. Matthews (Kaponga), A. Pennelow (Oaonui), B. Waterland (Kohi). A later list includes:—Severe cases: Lieutenant G. J. Hawkins (New Plymouth), A. Cameron (Stratford),, HV. Ciatton (Stratford), F. V. Green (Ngaere), G. J. Seed (Douglas). Not severe cases: A. Aitken (Otakeho), R. W. Campbell (Waverley), G. IT. Hart (Ohura), F. Harrison (Egmont Village). ,The latest list includes the following:— Dangerously ill: E. P, Blanehard (New Plymouth), and E. L.
