THE EMPIRE. SPECIAL MATINEE THIS AFPERNOON. "BESSIE LOVE IN '•THE SAWDUST RING." Elephants and other animals drawing the enormous circus cages as a mammoth circus enters the town, are shown in the exceptionally interesting Triangle drama "The Sawdust Ring", in whfch Bonnie Bessie Love delighted a big attendance at the Empire last night. This entertaining story is full of pathos and quaint humor, and the hearts of the audience go out to the two little kids who start out witli their old grey horse to run a "bn- .w, •■ -i.» ~;,;t , l re is full of charm for both tdults and dies, and ti;e i,uu. . ~.. will be enthusiastic over the scenes from the big circus. To enable all the kiddies to view "the Sawdust Ring" the Empire management has arranged a special matinee to commence at a quarter past three this afternoon when the children will he admitted for three pence.
EVERYBODY'S. GEORGE WALSH IX "HIGH FINANCE." A ROLLICKING COMEDY-DRAMA. George Walsh, acknowledged as the kest actor in film comedy-drama, will appear in another rollicking picture at Everybody's to-night and to-morrow. It is William Fox's "High Finance," a story which gives Mr. Walsh a rare opportunity to display his prowess and fun-making ability. Mr. Walsh plays the role of Preston Piatt, a young spendthrift, who, because he is threatened with being disinherited, hires out as a valet with a scientist about to go west to explore a deserted mine. On the trip ho meets Patricia West (Doris Pawn), a young girl, who, to assert woman's rights liecame private secretary with the same scientist. Preston fall= in love with Patricia. To show his father he has some business ability he "salts" the abandoned copper mine, starts a run on the stock and sells it to his father for SIOO,OOO. When his father arrives and sees he has been buncoed, Preston leaves to make Patricia his bride, having netted ft nice fortune from the mine deal. Dad relents and welcomes his financier son back home.
