A good deal of discussion followed a suggestion to alter the rules of the Council so its to allow every individual member of a branch to vote individually by w.w of proxy. Pembroke Road school was crowded last night, for Ibe farewell tendered to Privates E Aldridsc. \Y- Cameron, and P. Wiekstcol. Mr. H. Harrison made (he farewell speeches at tlic same time presenting; each soldier with a .sift subscribed for by the settlers On the road. Song; were contributed by Miss 0- Martin and Messrs V. Aitken and Sharp, whilst Mrs. Sharp played a pianoforte solo, and a recitation was delivered by Mr. Williams. The music for the dance was supplied by Mr. Harrison (violin 1 ond Miss Harrison (piano), extras beinir contributed by Mrs. Pianehi and Mr R Parker Mr. T,en Kogei'3 ably fulfilled the duties of MC.
