HAWERA HIGH SCHOOL.

To the Editor. Sir,—l hasten to seek your indulgence to rectify an error in my letter of your Monday's issue. Being, as I flnd,~misinformed, I referred to Mr Dixon, of Hn wera, as chairman of the Education Board. I have thus done injustice to two gentlemen—to the one by attributing to him sentiments with which he is not in accord, and to the othe k in ascribing to him a title which he does not —and, I trust, never will—hold. I believe that the present chairman of the Board is a man of keen insight into educational matters, and, unlike Mr. Dixon, cautious that the reforms which he advocates are progressive and not retrogressive.—l am, etc., F. T JONES." Hawera, April 3, 1918
