At the inquest on Norman Kirkcaldie, the verdict was that deceased died from a revolver wound, self inflicted, whole suffering from neurasthenia. SUICIDE IX POLICE. CELLS. Palmerston North, April 2. John Nolan, aged 55 years, who was on remand for attempted suicide on .Saturday last, committed suicide in the police cells last night. A MOTOR ACCIDENT. (From Our Tariki Correspondent). An accident attended with somewhat serious results occurred here on Sunday night. Mr. W. Rudkin, on his way to lhe Anglican churehj when opposite Mr. Below's residence, hearing something approaching from the Inglewood direction, moved towards the si<l • * <>f tlie road but was too late. The motor cyclist travelling without lights and a lady passenger behind came into violent collision with nim. No time was lost in conveyiithe young lady, who had sustained severe injuries about the head to Mr. Rudkin's house, where Mrs. D. Jones rendered first aid prior to the suil'ered being conveyed to the Stratford hospital by ivtr. J. Tlierklcson. Mr. Rudkin received n nasty cut on the head and injuries to his hand and right leg, but nevertheless pluckilv proceeded to the church and conducted the evening service, wiiich was unavoidably delayed in consequence of the accident.
