EVERYBODY'S. A NOTED DANCER—JOAN SAWYER —IN "LOVE'S LAW." The Fox feature "Love's Law," commencing a two-night season at Everybody's to-night will feature the foremost American dancer, Miss Joan Sawyer, in an appealing dramatic story that also gives the star numerous opportunities to show her marvellous foot work. It is a refreshing story of a girl who leaves certain success as a world-famous dancer in the cities to return to the wild open air life of her native forests and the man die loves. The supporting cast includes the well-known Fox actor, Stuart Holmes. Charlie Chaplin is featured on the same programme in the Mutual comedy, "Behind the Screen," which is being repeated by special request. THE EMPIRE. DOCIG. FAIRBANKS in "DOUBLE TROUBLE."
Douglas Fairbanks does some notable work in "his dual role in "Double Trouble," screened at The Empire last night. As the story gees, Fairbanks ia oast as a young banker when the action begins. He is very timid in the presence of young -women. However, be is shown to be at home addressing a Sunday school. As he ia leaving on a vacation, Fairbanks, as the banker Amidon, is hit on the head toy a thug. Five years later he awakens as Amidon again, while in pyjamas, on a pullman car. He ie astonished when he sees a paper and notes the lapse •of time. Ho meets an old friend, .Judge Blodget. They go to a clairvoyant, who puts hint in a trance. He awsikens as a Mr-. Brassfield. In that character he tells.of waking up. in the boom town of Bakertown after the blow on the head, with no consciousness of what liad happened before, or even his name. He takes the. name of Brassfield, sU'ikes oil, becomes a,wealthy man, «Mid is nominated to be mayor. When he •enters on his many Jove affairs, the old judge and the clairevoyant decide that he hail better, become Atnidon again. They go to Bakertown. There Amidon is unable to transact the big business built up by Brassfield, who proves very successful in business dealings, aud also in political affairs, but is so unscrupulous as to railroad a poor man who wouldn't be bribed. The clairvoyant turns Brassfield baek to Amidon, who rescues the poor family from gaol. He also is reconciled to Vic ew»M,heart. The supports include the fourteenth episode of "The Secret Kingdom" and a 'Pathe Gazette.'' The same programme will he screened to-oiglit.
