AUCKLAND v. WELLINGTON. By Xelegm, -Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Auckland-Wellington cricket match commenced in threatening weather, but the rain kept off, Cricket was rather dead Wellington batted first, making 3-27—Hiddlestone (10, Brice 87, Crawford 42, Dind 31, Harris (not out) 22. Hiddlestone batted well, being at the wickets tor two hours. Smith took 5 wickets for 112, Coates 3 for 45. Auckland lost five wickets for 83—• Daere 40, Midlane (not out) 22. Crawford took 2 wickets for 32, Brice 2 for 27, Hiddlcston 1 for 0. Midlane played a safe game, while Daere knocked runs up very quickly.
OTAGO v, CANTERBURY, Dunedin, Last Night. The cricket match Otago v. Canterbury commenced to-day in fine but dull weather. The wicket vw sticky at the si art, but quickly improved. Canterbury made llil in the first innings—Booth 4!) (not out), North Z>i Blunt 22, Gordon 19, Reese 17. Hay took five wickets for 49 riirs, Mcßeth iour for 82. In the second innings the, visitors made 17 for 2 wickets, Oiago made 141 in the first innings Carron :IG, Alloo 24, Conradi IS Gray took 7 wickets for 44, Blunt 1 for 48, and Howell 1 for 29.
