A native named Thomas Joseph Toss was brought to New Plymouth yesterday by Constable McGregor, who had arrested him 011 a military warrant, at Mokau, for failing to report at the Narrow Neck Camp, Auckland. The prisoner will be kept in custody until taken charge of by the military authorities. The ofi'er of the Taranaki Amusements Company, Limited, to devote the nctt proceeds of the Good Friday night showings at Everybody's and the Umpire picture theatres to the Boys' High School rebuilding fund, which was gratefully accepted by the citizens' 'committee, had the effect of raising a sum of over .C~>o towards the' fund.

The Salvation Army Feilding Silver Band, one of the finest in New Zealand, will play in tiie town this (Saturday) alternoon and to-night; also on Sunday, at 2.45 they play in the Pnkekura Park. At 0.4:", p.m. they meet liy the Red House, and march to Everybody's Picture Palace, playing the Dead March in Saul, in memory of the New Plymouth men who have been killed at tlie front.
