Jemison's fine Jersey heifrts fetched good values, the calves throughout averaging well over £2. Air Kilsby's line of fat lambs" were knocked down to donor at 14s 2d per head. Mrs. J. Knowles, one large homecured ham and ease of sundries; Alessrs Adlam, Bowling, T. Fabish, cattle dogs;, Messrs Walker, Lepper, Jatoes and Fabish,' towls; S. Chapman, two geese. Besides the above the ladies of the district were very generous in gifts of cakes, lollies, eggs, preserves, fruit and vegetables. Privats E, Jones, W. Hucker and W. Hogan arrived by the mail train on Saturday night on their extended leave. Mr. C. Cartwright, whose death at Wc.nganui was reported last week, was wt-11 known and.very highly respected here, being first assistant at the cheese factory for a number of years.
