ON THE SEA.
A SUBMARINE WINCED. ARRIVES IN SPANISH PORT. Received March 26, 5.5 p.m. London, March 25. A German submarine of 400 tons arrived, at the Spanish port of Ferrol, carrying two 11-centimetre guns, with a crew of 30. The commander stated that the submarine bad been badly damaged as a result of a fight with three warships. MINESWEEPER MINED. DESTROYER COLLIDES AND SINKS.. Received March 20, 9.30 p.m. London, March 25. A mine-sweeping sloop was mined and sunk on the 22nd, two officers and 64 men being lost. destroyer, after collision on the 2Brd, sank, one officer and one man being lost. RAIDER EQUIPPED IN MEXICO. Washington, Mardh 25. The Navy Department announces that tlie vessel seized in the Pacific was a fiOft. motor boat named Agassiz. She sailed from a west Mexican port, where slio was fitted out under circumstances which led the authorities to believe she" might be used as a raider. Rifles, pistols, and German flags were ou hoard.
AMERICAN STEAMER SUNK. London, March 25The American steamer Cliattooche has been torpedoed. The crew of 78 have ■been landed in England. UTILISATION OF GERMAN SHIPS. Washington, March 25. Following on the seizure of Dutch ships, the United States and the Allies are likely to insist on other neutrals utilising the German ships in their harbors for carrying foodstuffs.
