Mr. W. Kerr, S.M., of Wairarapa, and formerly of New Plymouth, lias receiveu notice of his transfer to Napier, for which place he will leave in the course of a few days. Mr. J. Prestney, Fitzroy, has received advice that his son, Private R. J. Prestney, has been transferred to the New Zealand Convalescent Hospital, Hors. cliurch, and that lie is showing good recovery. Mr. J. R. Lander, Westown, has been notified that his son, Sapper C. Lauder, has been transferred to the Walton-on-Thames Hospital. Lieut. C. W. Crutch, who lias been area officer at New Plymouth and adjutant of the XI Regiment since the outbreak of war, has been notified of his transfer to llawcra. At a meeting of the Taranaki branch of the Teachers' Institute, held on Saturday, Mr. T. U. Wells, M.A., and Miss B. Meyer, 8.A., were nominated as representatives on the Council of Education. The .feeling of the meeting was in favor of supporting the appointment of Mr. H. C. Cousins, Auckland, to the Superannuation Board. Mr. H. C. K. Fisher, late officer in charge of the Eastern Extension Co.'s station at Singapore, has been appointed sucoessor of Mr. K. A. Black, as superintendent of the New Zealand Block. He takes the Australian appointment With the company.—Press Association.
