SALVATION ARMY.

On Sunday harvest festival thanksgiving services were held at the Salvation Army hall all day. The hall was very tastefully decorated to -represent a farmyard. In the evening the hall was crowded, there being a larger number there than has Ibeen known for some years. Commandant Scotney opened the service by praying for the soldiers at the front, the congregation standing while he did so- The singing company then sang "Bcapers are Needed," after which the band rendered the selection "An Invitation" (Scotney). Commandant and 'Mrs Scotney sang a duet very sweetly. The commandant then gave a very interesting and powerful address on "Seeds and Weeds," taking for text Proverbs 24.

Last night a splendid programme was rendered by the young people and on Tuesday the band will give a programme assisted by the songsters. Produce and refreshments will be on sale both nights.
