Want appears to be as fit as anything engaged in the Ohakea Hack Hurdles, 1% miles, but Mattock is likely to have a good local following. Turangapito arrived at Bulls on Monday,- and appears to be a much quieter neddy than when produced at Ilawera last month. He is engaged in the Carnarvon Hack Handicap, a furlongs, and is sure to run a good race. The lightweights, Zela and Piano in particular, may have the\ finish to themselves if the top weight doesSiot behave well at the post.
The Rangitikei Cup, 1 '/ 4 miles, will see Nobleman made a warm order, but. Gang Awj has been doing good worklately, and is likely to keep the Wellington Cup winner busy. Nothing else appears to have more than & rough chance.
Punters will be up against it when the Pukenui "Welter comes to be sized up. iSignorclla is fancied in Wangamii, and he and Warmth may prove as fit as anything engaged.
If Henry Clay is reserved for the Parewauui Welter lie may be the public's elect. Bradamante has been in a place lately, and the ox-Hawera sprinter appears to be running on well. The race looks Open. Staccato, will be ''hot" in the Ngatiapa ■Hack Handicap, and over five furlongs is n hot proposition. The Gisborne pair, Marenga and Orawia, can travel fast, and nnx show up at the meeting.
