ARBITRATION COURT.

THE TANNERS' DISPUTE. By Telegrapu—Press Association Christchurch, March 18. In the Arbitration Court to-day application ,was made on behalf of the Canterbury Tanners and Fellinongers' Union to have a voluntary increase in' .vares made bindng. The secretary of the union stated that at a conference of employees, a certain increase was agreed to, and the union wished to include it in the award.

The president, in refusing the application. said the court had no power to Uial-e the order. The increase was purely voluntary, and the employees should respect the employers and take what was done in good faith.
