OPIUM SMUGGLERS.
AN EXCITING EXPERIENCE. Received March 14. 8.40 p.m. Sydney, March 11 ■ Acting upon information that it was intended to smuggle opium from a vessel at Mort's dock, two hidden policemen saw two men land two heavy bags, supposedly containing £3OOO worth of opium, and convey them to a waiting motor car, which was immediately started. Thp police emptied their revolvers at the flying car after having attempted to stop It- Other police stationed further along made similar unavailing efforts.
