THE POLITICAL ELECTORATES

NEW BOUNDARIES GAZETTED.

The new boundaries for the parliamentary electoral districts were «;iy,eUed on ]■ clr uiirv JI. but ilie (Inscription given in the Gazette h not very clear, being dotainui in a technical and complicated manner- We have, however, nuulc some enquiries regarding this matter, and iind I hat F.gmout now includes Ncrmanby on ita southern boundary., find runs down to the sea by the Ketemarae road. It also includes the *'paper on tho beach known as Ohawae. The district still includes Aran?ta and skirt* the edjie of Meremere, including that place. On the northern boundary, uenv Eltliam, the district is much before bihuc practically the same as at lask election but on the seaward side there are eoiuideriible alteration. The district there 'has been ;;ivatly contracted, the boundary now heinir about one milt 1 norlh of Miotu. Wnroa and Newall road are now included in Mr. Okey's ehvtorate.

The Tarauaki district now loses Inslevood, the new boundary running along the outskirts of both that town and Waitara.

Stratford, of course, gains Tnglewood, lint that is the only important alteration,

Tlie Patca district is also contracted at (he southern end, owing to Aramoho having been included ; u :'lie adjoining district

Generally spcakiir (lie l'atca district has been considerably contracted and Egniont and Taranaki slightly so. The Kgniont electorate would have been improved if Ararata an<i Merciuere had been included in the Patca district and the northern boundary emended further north towards Stratford. However, tin new boundaries will probably give satisfaction in this province.—Argus.
