EVEYBODY'S. LAST NIGHT OF THE BIG WORLD > FILM. "THE ALMIGHTiTDOLLAR," Love, of money and the dangers of too much devotion to mouey-makiug are the themes of "The Almighty Dollar," the splendid iForld Film drama shown to an overflowing house at Everybody's on Saturday night. The cast is particularly strong, Frances Nelson, E- K. Lincoln, and June Elvidge playing the principal roles, and the supporting parts are all filled most capably. The story is about two orphan girls who arc left to face the world alone. One of them is merry and light-hearted, and becomes infatuated by an unscrupulous doctor. However, reissued from a subway fire, she falls in love with and marries a young Westerner, who is rapidly becoming a power in the world of finance. Then the trouble develops. Absorbed in his money-making, the young husband leaves his young wife a good deal to herself, and the ascendancy of the doctor again resumes its sway. Only by the noble action of the elder sister is the young wife saved from disgrace and dishonor. The settings are superb and there are several wonderful spectacular ocencs, among which may be singled out for notice the fire in the subway, which is almost too vivid and realistic. The action all takes place in modern New York, and is an illuminating picture of present-day conditions in that money-mad city. The IRth episode of the fascinating' serial "The Iron Claw" is also on the programme, which shows for the last lime to-night.
