He anticipated an increase in tin; daily expenditure, but the required sum would last till the end of June. The daily average expenditure from December 1 to February 1) was £6,107,000. The expenditure on army and navy munitions exceeded the budget estimate bv £(>(>!,000 daily, whilst the loans to the Allies and Dominions exceeded the budget estimate by £339,000 daily, and miscellaneous expenditure by £242,000 daily. STATEMENTS IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS. Received March 8, 11.50 p.m. London, March 7. In the House of Commons, Mr. J. F. Hope (Junior Lord of the Treasury) stated lie believed the agreement with the Turkish Government regarding the exchange of prisoners would be ratified. Sir Herbert Samuel (Solicitor-General for Ireland) said no prisoners were being forcibly fed, but those refusing food must take the consequences. Mr. Bonar Law said ho hoped to make a general statement of the Government's policy regarding the carrying out of the resolutions of the Paris Economic Conference after Easter in connection with the Imports and Exports Bill. Repaying to Mr. Austen Chamberlain, Mr. Bonar Law announced that the Premier would mako a statement on Monday on the Government's connection with the press, when the matter could be debated. The Premier doubtless referred to Lord Jellicoe's dismissal. THE COMBING OUT PROCESS. Received March 8, 10.25 p.m. London, Marcli 7.
